Move from Grade 1's numbers-to-50 comfort zone into confident two-digit place value to 100, with a first peek past 100 toward 200.
Addition and Subtraction Facts to 20: Fast, Confident Mental Math
Push automatic addition and subtraction fact fluency from Grade 1's facts-to-10 up to the facts-to-20 fluency Grade 2 assumes, using counting-on, doubles, and making-ten strategies.
Two-Digit Addition and Subtraction with Regrouping
The single biggest jump from Grade 1 to Grade 2: adding and subtracting two-digit numbers up to 100 by trading ten ones for a ten and a ten for ten ones.
